Struggling to get your pet desexed?

If you live in many parts of the Waikato we can help!

We know it’s tough out there so New Lives have partnered with two veterinary clinics in Hamilton to offer subsidised desexing for people living in the following district council boundaries:

Waikato (e.g. Huntly and Ngāruawāhia), Waipa (e.g. Cambridge and Te Awamutu), Ōtorohanga, and Hamilton.

Op Shop 1

How it works

You contribute $60 towards having your cat desexed, and we'll take care of the rest of the bill at one of our participating veterinary clinics.

As well as being desexed, your pet will be microchipped and registered on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register for you.

This is a high trust model with no requirement to show a community services card but we do expect people to only purchase vouchers if they truly need them.

Funding is limited so if you are able to afford to have your pet desexed without a hand up, please leave the vouchers for those who are genuinely struggling.  To ensure the financial sustainability of the scheme, there is a limit of four cats per household.

If you are having issues purchasing a voucher, please email desexing@newlivesrescue.co.nz for help.
